What is the Larynx?
The larynx, also known as the voice box, is located in the throat.
It plays a key role in breathing, speaking, and protecting the airway during swallowing.
What is Larynx Surgery?
Larynx surgery involves treating conditions affecting the voice box, including tumors,
growths, or damage to the vocal cords. The goal is to remove disease while preserving
voice and breathing function as much as possible.
Goal: Remove disease, preserve voice, and maintain normal breathing.
Types of Larynx Surgery
1. Microlaryngeal Surgery
Minimally invasive surgery to remove small lesions or nodules from vocal cords.
2. Partial Laryngectomy
Only a part of the larynx is removed, allowing the patient to retain some voice function.
3. Total Laryngectomy
The entire larynx is removed in advanced cases. Breathing is done through a stoma (opening in the neck).
4. Laser Surgery
Uses laser technology to remove early-stage tumors with precision.
